Hearty Chourico Chili
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb. Mello's ground chourico
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
- 1 can kidney beans (19 oz)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 1 can petite diced tomatoes (14.5oz)
- 2 tblspns chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- salt to taste
- In a large skillet over medium heat saute ground beef - salt to taste
- Set slow cooker to high and add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and kidney beans
- Add onion, pepper, chourico, and spices to skillet over medium heat for 6 -8 minutes
- Once ground beef is fully cooked, transfer the entire mix from skillet to slow cooker
- Set slow cooker to medium heat and cook for 1 hour
- Top with sour cream, shredded cheese, etc
