Shipping & Returns

MellosChourico.com uses UPS and USPS as its primary shipping providers. The standard shipping method depends on the package destination. We recommend a maximum of 2 Day service to ensure that products arrive to your destination within 48 hours. If your area of the country normally experiences hot weather, we strongly recommend you choose the 2nd or Next Day Air shipping option. Orders with refrigerated products are shipped in an insulated box with sufficient cold packs.

Please arrange to have someone home on the delivery date. Whether or not the carrier will leave an unattended package is at their discretion. We do not guarantee packages that are left unattended by a carrier, as they may sit in high temperatures. Upon delivery, we receive notification from the carrier on whether or not someone was available to sign for it. This will be the sole manner of determining whether or not someone was available.

Memorial Day through Labor Day

Due to the heat, we do not ship packages via UPS Ground if you are in a shipping zone that requires 3 or more days to arrive. We recommend an upgrade to at least 2nd Day Air. We do not guarantee packages shipped with anything over 2 days of transit time. Orders placed before 10:00am ET Monday will be shipped that week if Monday is not a holiday. Orders received after this time may be held until the following week.

Order Fulfillment

Most orders placed before 10:00am ET on Mondays or Tuesdays will be fulfilled that day. Orders received after 10:00am ET Tuesday or on holidays will be fulfilled on the first business day of the following week. While most orders will be fulfilled the same day, we reserve the right to fulfill any order the following day/week when experiencing high order volumes or hot weather. This may or may not affect the timing of your shipment. If you need your package by a certain date for an event or other reason, please include this information in the “Customer Comments” section during checkout. When an item is out of stock, the entire package will be held until the out of stock item is available, and this may change your expected arrival date.

Order Shipping and Transit Times

Shipping date will depend on the delivery method you select and required transit time. See our UPS Ground shipping map for estimated transit times. The maximum amount of time packages can be in transit is 2 days from June to August and 4 days from September to May. Because there are no Saturday/Sunday deliveries available, we do not ship packages that could be held up over a weekend. While we use UPS as our primary shipping provider, we reserve the right to use any shipping provider we think is necessary in order to provide you with a high quality and high speed delivery of your order.

  • Orders placed on Monday before 10:00am ET will normally ship the same week. If one or more items are out of stock, we will wait for all items and provide a full shipment at that time.

  • Orders placed between Monday 10:00am ET and Tuesday 10:00am ET will normally ship the same week as long as the required transit time is a maximum of 3 days. If one or more items are out of stock, we will wait for all items and provide a full shipment at that time.

  • Orders placed between Tuesday 10:00am ET and Sunday will normally ship on the first business day of the following week. If one or more items are out of stock, we will wait for all items and provide a full shipment at that time.

Saturday Delivery

Some destinations may allow Saturday delivery for an extra charge. Please contact us with inquiries about Saturday delivery.

Delivery Restrictions

  • We cannot ship orders to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Please arrange to have someone available to receive your order and refrigerate upon receipt. We are not responsible for delays in receipt should UPS, at its discretion, not leave your package unattended at your shipping address for security or any other reason.

  • Please note that we are not responsible for delays in shipment outside of our control (i.e. inclement weather, an incorrect shipping address, or if you are unavailable to accept your delivery).

Return Policy

Please keep in mind that food items are not returnable. If you receive a damaged package, do not discard it. The carrier may wish to see the package. Try to keep the package in a cooler or refrigerator until it is inspected or picked up. To report a damaged order you must call us within 24 hours of receipt at 508-673-2320.
